As you probably already know, November 11-20 is going to be an amazing time for locavores and foodies here in Central Florida. We’ll have a week of fun activities and awesome local dining in some of your favorite restaurants, followed by an amazing weekend celebration at the Winter Park Harvest Festival! At this point, we don’t have to tell you how excited we are, and how we can’t wait for November, since we’ve done a lot of that already! That’s why we’re so glad we get a preview NEXT WEEKEND. That’s right. You can get a taste of what’s to come by attending special events at Napa Restaurant at the Peabody Orlando on Aug. 19th and the Rusty Spoon on Aug. 21st! You’ll find more detailed information on our Special Events page, but here are the basics:
Friday, August 19th: Fundraiser at Napa at the Peabody Orlando
Napa Chefs will prepare a variety of gourmet dishes throughout seven stations at Napa, featuring organic and local produce, meats and seafood from area farmers and purveyors such as Deep Creek Ranch, Heart of Christmas farms, Lake Meadows Farms, Healthy Living Produce, Wild Ocean Seafood, Bear Wolf Ranch and Winter Park Dairy. The $65 ticket price includes beer and wine (including local, organic beer from Orlando Brewing), soft drinks, and valet parking. Want to make a weekend of it? The Peabody is offering a special $99 room rate to Slow Food Guests!
Sunday, August 21st: Edible Orlando’s Summer Event at The Rusty Spoon
Wind down your weekend with good food, drinks and company at the Rusty Spoon! This fundraiser, benefitting Eat Local Week, will include hors d’Oeuvres and cocktails from St. Germain for only $20.
Chef Kathleen Blake will showcase local ingredients provided by Lake Meadow Naturals, Deep Creek Ranch, Olde Hearth Bread Company, Wild Ocean Seafood, Uncle Matt’s Organic and Palmetto Creek Farms.
